PLS-DA in qiime2

Hi,
I am currently reviewing a manuscript stating "Partial least squares latent structure discriminate analysis (PLS-DA) was performed using Qiime" with no indication of version. Anyway, I was interested in trying this out on my own data but did not find it in any qiime2 documentation. Was this ever part of Qiime or is this an incorrect statement?

Hey there @Stef --- we don't have a PLS-DA method in QIIME 2, but perhaps something existed in QIIME 1? Or, maybe they used a QIIME 2 community plugin that we don't know about yet?

As far as I know, no version of qiime has ever supported PLS-DA. That methods section is lying poorly written.

I think the author means using a R package mixOmics for performing PLS-DA analysis.
