Hey,
It seems that the hyperlink in the gut-to-soil tutorial (Gut-to-soil axis tutorial 💩🌱 - Microbiome marker gene analysis with QIIME 2) doesn’t work for me.
Hey,
It seems that the hyperlink in the gut-to-soil tutorial (Gut-to-soil axis tutorial 💩🌱 - Microbiome marker gene analysis with QIIME 2) doesn’t work for me.
Hi @Shaoming_Xiao, the link you shared works for me - is that the one you had trouble with? Our updated documentation for the 2026.1 release went live today, so it's possible that you got unlucky and tried to load the page as it was in the process of updating. Can you try again and let us know if you're still having trouble?
Thanks for replying! Somehow it still doesn’t work for me. I tried with chrome and safari on multiple platforms… Maybe I give it some time and try again later. Thanks!
Hey @Shaoming_Xiao,
Providing a secondary confirmation that the link works for me as well. Can you provide us with more details regarding what error message you're seeing when you attempt to follow the link?
The original message says the link in the tutorial doesn't work, but provides a link to the tutorial, so I'm wondering if OP is referring to links in the tutorial.
For example, I'm excited to be learning diversity analyses this week from the gut-to-soil tutorial, and some of the links to the papers for q2-boots and q2-kmerizer don't work as expected for me:
mousing over the hypertext shows an empty and non-clickable text field.
If this kind of thing is not what OP is referring to, my apologies.
Here's the links to those papers if it's helpful to anyone else:
q2-boots: Facilitating bootstrapped and rarefaction-based microbiome diversity analysis with q2-boots - PubMed
q2-kmerizer: Integrating sequence composition information into microbial diversity analyses with k-mer frequency counting - PubMed
Thanks @sibilant - I can confirm that those links aren't working. I think this is something we actually have noticed in the past and may need to be fixed upstream in JupyterBook 2 (the tool our docs are now based on).
This is a bit of a hack, but if you refer to this version of the gut-to-soil tutorial:
those links do work. That page contains the same content -- amplicon-docs.qiime2.org embeds it from that URL, and it seems like the links are breaking as part of the embed.
I get the same issue as @sibilant. This occurs when you enter the tutorial page from the qiime2 website ( QIIME 2 Library ).
@gregcaporaso The version you sent works, thanks! Probably better to just replace the link in the qiime website ~
Ok, thanks for the information @Shaoming_Xiao.
Probably better to just replace the link in the qiime website ~
Agreed, and that's the plan but it's a little out of our control at the moment as the issue is with a 3rd party tool that we use to build our documentation. We'll get there though!
Update: I think I initially misunderstood your suggestion. We may actually be able to replace that link on the library now, which would get people to the version with the working links in the meantime. Thanks again for reporting this, and welcome to the QIIME 2 Forum!
