The implementation of Ancom-BC2 in R supports continuous variable types. Is the Qiime2 package ANCOMBC using the latest R packages to be able to use continuous variables in the formula?
If not, are there plans to update this package? It would be a great upgrade to Qiime2.

That's a great question! We do have plans to add ANCOMBC2 into QIIME 2 - this is on our roadmap for the 2024.10 release, so keep an eye out for that in October.
