Hello,
has anyone got a pipeline on how to extract and analyse Eukaryota that arise from 16S amplicon sequences? Kindly share. Thank you
Hi there!
The 16S is a highly conserved region of Bacteria and Archaea, as it targets the prokaryotic ribosomal RNA. For eukaryotes we have 18S rRNA, ITS regions and other markers. If you're seeing Eukaryota in your 16S data, these could be artifacts or non-specific amplification.
Cheers!

Noted. Thank you, Sergio. I was hoping that, just maybe, some information could be obtained from these sequences.
