I only want to ask you a question, because I can't install any verison of qiime2 successfully by just one attempt through using the default command of any installation way (VritualBox, WSL or Docker).
I think I've installed every single version since.
Make sure that your conda is updated - I had some issues with Qiime2 installation on machines with outdated conda.
Best,
Thank you for your reply!
Could you please tell me where are you?Your location, please.
Germany. Do you think that there are some region-specific issues?
Had no issues in Israel as well. And once I installed one of the versions in Kazakhstan.
Maybe, I've just using this platform well at Lanzhou China, but I've moved to another position in China now. I've done a paper's original data dealing with QIIME2 2020.8, but now I'm confusing! I couldn't use it when there has a deplect of the VirtualBox (.vdi) files version, do you know why we must use WSL as the replacement of VirtualBox files? I think VirtualBox files are easy to use, because they could be downloaded at everywhere.
Though I am not one of the qiime2 devs, I think it is related to the development of WSL2. Earlier, Q2 devs supported VirtualBox, but when WSL2 became more stable, developers decided to drop support for the VB version to relieve the load on the team.
You still can try to install VB and Ubuntu and try to install qiime2 there. Personally I prefer native Ubuntu as main OS (you can install it on the second drive).
I know QIIME2 is a tough work, so I agree with your words. I'm just trying to download other Linux-based WSL distributions to install QIIME2, because the native Ubuntu distribution of WSL is not worked well at here. Thank you for your generous reply
, I'm also doing a tough installing work over these past few months.
