Updating QIIME2 2018.2 to 2018.4

Hi sorry if this is a stupid question but if I already have QIIME2 2018.2 installed, do I need to uninstall, then reinstall the latest version (2018.4) or what is the best way to update my version of QIIME2?

Hello Riley,

I’m glad you solved the other issue.

You can simply install the newest release into a new conda environment.
https://docs.qiime2.org/2018.4/install/native/

So then you can choose which one to activate by running one of these:

source activate qiime2-2018.2
source activate qiime2-2018.4

Surprisingly, installing qiime is well documented but I can’t find a guide on updating to the newest version of Qiime.
