RE: Importing fastq.gz files

Hi i trust this finds you well.

I am Rose and new to QIIME2

I have a few questions.

my data looks like this [L15707_TAAGGCGA-TATCCTCT_L001_R1_001.fastq.gz, L15707_TAAGGCGA-TATCCTCT_L001_R2_001.fastq.gz)
therefore my question is this Casava format or how should I import this type of data?

While running alpha diversity, there is a code that states metadata..should I also import metadata into qiime if I have this type of data .. how should i import metadata into qiime.

I'm sorry i have searched and have not been able to find a way to solve my issue.

Hello @Naspy, please consult the importing tutorial here. It looks like you probably have Casava 1.8 paired-end data.
