Postdoctoral Positions Studying Human Gut Microbiome at PSU

Dear QIIME2 users, I am starting my lab at the Pennsylvania State University in July and have multiple postdoctoral positions available to work on a NIAID-funded project investigating the interface of diet, pathogens, and the gut microbiome. We will be a hybrid wet/dry lab using human specimens, anaerobic microbiology, synthetic communities, gnotobiotic mice, and a variety of ‘omics approaches to dissect the human gut microbiome.

The ideal candidates will have a Ph.D., MD, or equivalent, with relevant training in at least one field related to microbiology, immunology, microbial ecology, biochemistry, and/or bioinformatics. Expertise in anaerobic microbiology and/or experience with R, Python, or Bash is preferred but not necessary. Applicants should have a demonstrated track record of productivity, be highly self-motivated, and be enthusiastic to work both individually and as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team.

Applications must be submitted electronically here and include a CV, contact information for 2-3 references (including your Ph.D. advisor if possible), and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience, research interests, and how you will contribute to building an inclusive lab culture. Please email me if you have any questions or to discuss the positions in greater detail.

Sincerely,

Jordan
