Plugin error from diversity for alpha group significance command

Hi! When I run this command I get the following error.

qiime diversity alpha-group-significance --i-alpha-diversity ITS-no-CD25-alpha-chao-glioma.qza --m-metadata-file metadata-no-CD25-ITS-qiime2-glioma.txt --o-visualization ITS-chao1-group-significance.qzv

Plugin error from diversity:

The following IDs are not present in the metadata: 'taxonomy'

Debug info has been saved to /var/folders/hw/7d4749ps6vb3728wxdy93wcw0000gn/T/qiime2-q2cli-err-1zpyydwc.log

I would be very grateful for any help.

Welcome to the :qiime2: forum!

Your error is telling you that there's an ID present in your alpha diversity ("taxonomy") that doesn't appear in your metadata file. You can't have IDs in your alpha diversity that aren't present in your metadata.

This leads me to a question. The taxonomy isn't normally linked to data in QIIME 2, so I'm wondering a little bit about the source of your feature table?
