Optimal ubuntu version for qiime2/dada2 scripts

Hi friends,

I am working on windows 11 and trying to figure out what is the best version for “old” (2019) or newer version of qiime2?

In general, is it recommended to switch to the new version of qiime2 (24 or 25) with new Silva db (138/138.1) for community analyses 16s/18s and metagenome?

Hello!

Both versions are fine, but IMHO it is better to install version 24.04 rather that 25 or 18/19. In my experience conda version often is more important. If you encounter some issues with old versions of Qiime2, then you can try Ubuntu 18/19.

I will go for the latest qiime2 , and install all the packages from scratch. I will look for ubuntu 24.04
