Did I miss out the network analysis support in QIIME2 2017.12 release or it is yet to be added in the upcoming release?

You are not missing anything — network analysis methods are not yet supported in QIIME2.
A plugin for network analysis methods is planned for an upcoming release, but unfortunately I do not have an ETA. Until then, I would recommend checking out the network methods in qiime1 or phyloseq. You can check out the data exporting tutorials to figure out how to export the necessary files from qiime2 into a format that these programs can consume.
