Installing qiime2 using virtualbox 5.2.6

hello,
sorry if this is not the correct place to create a new topic.

I am installing qiime2 2017.12 using the last virtual box 5.2.6 ( O.S ubuntu 17.10) but when I doble click the file .ovf and click on IMPORT I have this error:

Error opening ‘/home/evangelv/.cache/.fr-lNtZjl/QIIME 2 Core - 2017.12 (1515769864)/QIIME 2 Core - 2017.12 (1515769864)-disk001.vmdk’ for reading (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND).

Hi @evangeL - it sounds like you haven't unzipped the entire contents of the ZIP file that you downloaded from us. From the docs:

Unzip/extract the qiimeX_Y_Z-build_number.zip file and open the directory that you chose to unzip to. Please note, some operating systems (e.g. Windows) open a read-only view of the ZIP file, which has not actually been extracted. Please follow the directions for your operating system/unarchiver tool as necessary.

You will need to identify the appropriate ZIP tool installed on your system, and follow the directions provided by that tool in order to successfully unzip the file. Keep us posted, thanks!
