I just started learning QIIME 2, and I am a complete beginner with minimum Linux exp. I was trying to install QIIME, and I keep on getting an errorr. I followed the instructions on Natively installing QIIME 2 — QIIME 2 2024.5.0 documentation
But, can someone help me clarify if the environment qiime2--2024.5 mentioned here in the link is just a placeholder and do I need to replace it with my environment when I am installing the various distributions?

Yes, in qiime2-<distro>-2024.5 the <distro> part is a placeholder for the QIIME 2 distribution you are using. For example, if you are using the Amplicon Distribution, once you create the Conda environment the command for activating it would be:
conda activate qiime2-amplicon-2024.5
