FEAST sourcetracking plug-in will not install

Hello,

I am working on running a FEAST analysis for microbial sourcetracking. I am following the README file found here:

to install the plug-in into qiime2-2020.6. I am getting the error: "ERROR: Command errored out with exit status 1: python setup.py egg_info Check the logs for full command output".

Before I continue with trying to install this, I was wondering if anyone had successfully used the FEAST plugin in QIIME? If so, what version of QIIME were you running? Any other advice on installing FEAST will also be appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi @rae123,

I apologize for the delayed response. The FEAST QIIME2 plugin is still under development and is not yet ready for users. I would suggest using the stable version of the R code which can be found here. You should be able to export your QIIME2 data for input into those scripts. Please let me know if you have trouble doing so.

Liat (author of FEAST) will post a tutorial on the QIIME2 forum when Q2-FEAST is ready. I will be sure to come back and reference it when that happens.

Thank you,

Cameron

I am just following up on the previous conversation here (its been ~4years). Did somebody make the plugin for q2-FEAST successfully? if yes, please can you share the link?
Thanks
Khem

Hi @khemlalnirmalkar,
I found this repo for a q2-feast (GitHub - nchitale/q2-feast)but it hasn't been updated for about 5 years. I am not sure if it ever was finished.

Hi @cherman2
Thanks for sharing the link,
However, the last update for this repo was in January 2020, but the above post from @cmartino in July 2020 mentioned that it was still under development. Since then i haven't seen any update on this repo or in the forum,

Hi @khemlalnirmalkar,

It is still under PR (see here) and so in development but I would gladly welcome anyone who wants to add/update it so we could merge it.

Cheers,

Cameron
