deblur error "Argument to parameter 'demux' is not a subtype of SampleData[SequencesWithQuality]."

deblur

Hi there,
I’m trying to use deblur to QC demultiplexed paired end reads. When I ran it, I got this error message:
Plugin error from quality-filter:

Argument to parameter ‘demux’ is not a subtype of
SampleData[SequencesWithQuality].

Is there anyway to solve this error?

I ran this both locally (Mac) and remote (Unix server), and got the same message. I use the .qza files created from demultiplexed paired end fast.gz following the Casava 1.8 paired-end demultiplexed fastq tutorial.

Hey @noricorino,

deblur doesn’t support paired-end data, so that’s why you are getting a type error.

You can either use qiime dada2 denoise-paired or use only the forward reads in your analysis (or even try both).

I see. I’ll do it with dada2 then. Thanks Evan!
