Use of ANCOM in multiple group analysis

I usually see that ANCOM is used usually to do comparison between two groups.

I tried performing ANCOM on my dataset which contained 6 groups. Although I got a number of differentially abundant ASVs, can the statistics be interpreted like an ANOVA's statistics in this case?

I'm not sure - perhaps you can check with a statistician to get their take on it? Otherwise, I'll point you to this plugin's list of citations, as a good starting point:

I am also looking into ALDEx2 to countercheck the similar findings. Perhaps the any findings that satisfy both approaches (if any, hopefully) would have a stronger statistical support.
