Remove PCR-induced sequence artifacts

Hello,

As we know, chimerical molecules is a kind of PCR artifacts, and DADA2 remove it.

But other sequence artifacts may arise due to the formation of heteroduplex molecules or Taq DNA polymerase error.

Could DADA2 remove these artifacts?

Yes! Dada2 does an error estimate step to measure polymerase error rate, and attempts to remove this error.

heteroduplex molecules

I would consider chimeras to be a type of heteroduplex molecule. But it sounds like you might be thinking about something different. What would be the source of invalid heteroduplex molecule you want to remove?
