I am using qiime taxa filter-table to filter one of my studies (with 295 samples). I used the following command:
qiime taxa filter-table --i-table pig\_table\_clustered.qza --i-taxonomy taxonomy-295.qza --o-filtered-table filter\_pig\_clustered.qza

here, **pig\_table\_clustered.qza** is the table obtained after denovo clustering
**taxonomy-295.qza** is the taxonomic classification output

error:

**Plugin error from taxa:**

**CategoricalMetadataColumn does not support values with leading or trailing whitespace characters. Column 'Taxon' has the following value: 'D\_0\_\_Bacteria;D\_1\_\_Firmicutes;D\_2\_\_Bacilli;D\_3\_\_Lactobacillales;D\_4\_\_Carnobacteriaceae;D\_5\_\_Alloiococcus;D\_6\_\_bacterium '**

Please help!

Hi @SAHIL_JAIN_16110144,
The error here is telling us that it doesn't like the blank white space at the end of your taxonomy annotations:
`'D_0 __Bacteria;D_1__ Firmicutes;D_2 __Bacilli;D_3__ Lactobacillales;D_4 __Carnobacteriaceae;D_5__ Alloiococcus;D_6__bacterium '`

Would work if it was

`'D_0 __Bacteria;D_1__ Firmicutes;D_2 __Bacilli;D_3__ Lactobacillales;D_4 __Carnobacteriaceae;D_5__ Alloiococcus;D_6__bacterium'`

How was this taxonomy artifact created exactly?

The taxonomy artifact was created using the following command:

**qiime feature-classifier classify-sklearn --i-classifier silva-132-99-nb-classifier.qza --i-reads merged-rep-seqs-295.qza --o-classification taxonomy-295.qza**

How can I remove that space at the end??

Hi @SAHIL_JAIN_16110144,
The issue with trailing white spaces is a known [bug](https://github.com/qiime2/q2-types/issues/179) that will hopefully be resolved in the next release or two.

Have a look through this work-around solution [here](https://forum.qiime2.org/t/qiime-taxa-filter-table-error/3947/4) and let us know if it works.
