The differences between the weighted and unweighted unifrac is the incorporation of abundances in the weighted version wehreas unweighted does not take into account the abundances. There is lots of examples of the UniFrac distances online I’m sure you’ll have no problem finding a good explanation, including the original paper or if you have 20 minutes to kill, this video by Dan Knight does a great job as well.
