help with alpha-rarefaction curve built with latest qiime release

Dear Qiime2 Forum,

I have constructed an alpha-rarefaction curve with the latest qiime2 release available and I have obtained a rather odd result.

I used the following command:
qiime diversity alpha-rarefaction --i-table table-250.qza --i-phylogeny rooted-tree.qza --p-max-depth 4000 --m-metadata-file metadata-comb-rep1-rep2.tsv --o-visualization alpha-rarefaction-movingpicture.qzv --verbose

And it yielded the curve in attachments. My main concern is the shape of the shape of the curves from the second graph, the one showing the sequencing depth vs number of samples. Is this a normal result? Is it ok?

Thank you very much in advance for your support.

Cheers,
Pablo

Hi @Pablo_V,

Could you post a picture fo the result or the .qzv?

Justine

Dear Justine,

Sorry about that, now the file should be available.

Cheers,
Pablo

Hi @Pablo_V,

The second curve looks fine to me. It seems like a normal process fo sample loss at different depths.

Best,
Justine
