Hi @WAS! I am assuming you are talking about the output visualization from the [`diversity beta-group-significance`](https://docs.qiime2.org/2017.12/plugins/available/diversity/beta-group-significance/) visualizer --- check out this great thread for a bit more discussion:

> Hi there, I was wondering if someone would be happy to explain how to interpret the output of beta-group-significance, particularly the pairwise boxplots. One thing that's really confusing me is the 'n' numbers under the boxplots (see below for example). Initially I assumed that it referred to the number of samples in that category, but that can't be possible as n=216 for 'supra' when I know there are only 24 'supra' samples and only 35 samples total in my dataset. Is 'n' the number of 'distan…

If you are asking about a different visualization, can you please post the following:

- the version of QIIME 2 you are running
- the exact command you are running (copy and paste)
- the metadata you are using (upload or copy and paste)
- the resulting visualization in question (upload or attach a screenshot)

Thanks! 🦖
