I downloaded a yml file and converted it to the pixi format:

```auto
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/qiime2/distributions/refs/heads/dev/2025.7/amplicon/released/qiime2-amplicon-macos-latest-conda.yml
pixi init --import qiime2-amplicon-macos-latest-conda.yml
```

I edited this part:

```auto
platforms = ["osx-64"]
```

Then `pixi install`

Miraculously, it made it through the install but missed some R software, including the historic problem `bioconductor-genomeinfodb`

So close!

Interesting, do they not run post-link hooks? That's where our nemesis lives.

EDIT: check out this:

> **[Pixi Configuration - Pixi by prefix.dev](https://pixi.sh/dev/reference/pixi_configuration/#run-post-link-scripts)**
>
> Pixi Documentation — Next-gen package manager for reproducible development setups

That might solve it.

I tried again, and this time it works!

```sh
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/qiime2/distributions/refs/heads/dev/2026.4/amplicon/passed/qiime2-amplicon-osx-64-conda.yml
```

```sh
pixi init --platform osx-64 --import qiime2-amplicon-osx-64-conda.yml
✔ Created /Users/colin/bin/github/pixi_demo/pixi.toml
```

```sh
pixi run qiime info
