# ANCOM-BC2 action not available in QIIME2 composition plugin

# Hello everyone,

I am trying to run ANCOM-BC2 in QIIME2 using the following command:

```auto

```

```auto
qiime composition ancombc2 \
  --i-table feature-table.qza \
  --m-metadata-file metadata.tsv \
  --p-fixed-effects-formula "metadata_column" \
  --o-ancombc2-output ancombc2-results.qza

```

However, I receive the following error:

```auto

```

```auto
Error: QIIME 2 plugin 'composition' has no action 'ancombc2'.
Did you mean 'ancombc'?

```

When I replace `ancombc2` with `ancombc`, I receive different errors, presumably because the two actions use different parameters.

I am currently using the `qiime2-amplicon-2024.10` environment.

Could anyone please advise whether ANCOM-BC2 is available in this QIIME2 version, or whether I need to install or update to a different version or environment?

HI @R44H88,

The `ancombc2` functionality was not added until the `rachis-qiime2-2025.4 ` release. See the associated release announcement [here](https://forum.qiime2.org/t/qiime-2-2025-4-is-now-available/33088).

I'd suggest downloading the latest `rachis-qiime2-2026.7` release, as there have been two years of updates and improvements since `qiime2-amplicon-2024.10`.
