That is correct - QIIME 2 stores taxonomy separate from the feature table. Check out [this post](https://forum.qiime2.org/t/feature-table-filter-samples-removes-taxonomy-from-biom-table/1159/3) to learn how to import a taxonomy-annotated BIOM table as `FeatureData[Taxonomy]`.
